COPPA Filter (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)
The COPPA filter allows you to control the handling of inbound ad requests based on the COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) compliance signal.
Where to Find the Filter
The COPPA filter is available in the Advanced Settings section at both:
- Supply Source level
- Demand Campaign level
How the Filter Works
- When the COPPA filter checkbox is enabled (checked), the system begins to analyze inbound ad requests by the
coppa
parameter. - Requests containing
&coppa=1
will be filtered out (i.e., blocked from processing).
Important Notes
- If the
coppa
parameter is missing or empty (e.g.,&coppa=
), the system cannot evaluate the request for COPPA compliance and will not filter it. - As a result, only ad requests that explicitly include
&coppa=1
will be filtered out when the COPPA filter is active.
By enabling this filter, you can ensure compliance with privacy regulations by excluding traffic marked as COPPA-restricted.
